Meningococcal septicaemia - Pre renal and renal

The main problem is hypovolaemia secondary to fluid leaking out from the intravascular space. Treatment relies on infusion of large amounts of colloid.

In addition, endotoxaemia may cause renal vasoconstriction, despite peripheral vasodilation.
