Management of Acute Renal Failure in Children


Examination

The child is conscious. He looks pink but his mucous membranes are dry and his eyes are rather sunken. Estimated to be 10% dehydrated. His capillary refill is 4 seconds and he is cool at the peripheries.

Oxygen saturation 97% in air.

Weight 15.0 kg.

Heart rate 110 bpm. Blood pressure 90/60. Chest clear. Abdomen soft but generalised tenderness.

CNS exam grossly normal.
