Metabolic acidosis

Incorrect.

The primary abnormality in metabolic acidosis is a fall in serum [HCO₃^-].  This may be the result of loss of bicarbonate from the body in the stools or urine, or accumulation of acid, which then consumes bicarbonate in the buffering process.
